“The Evolution of IPTV - a
Smart Approach to Differentiated IP
Video Services” |
| Speaker: |
Mr Hervé Brunet, VP Sales &
Operation, APAC, Redback Networks |
Abstract
The market forecast and outlook for IP video
services is bright, and it has been said that in
less than five years, the number of IPTV
subscribers will be up to 75 million worldwide.
In addition, the IPTV industry is going through
a major revolution including:
* Content changes -- what
we’ll be watching on TV.
* Device changes -- what we'll be watching TV
on.
* Infrastructure changes -- how we will receive
the TV services.
But the challenge remains
that traditional network design and deployment
approaches present operational, quality and
business challenges that could impact the
business case of delivering new IP video
services. IP video service providers will need
to build a smart broadband network that is able
to overcome these challenges by making their
services personalized, adaptive and efficient.
This approach leads to flexible, operationally
efficient and reliable service offerings.
